Forget...that's what I do these days!

Okay, so I know that one of the things that comes along with being pregnant is losing a few brain cells and being more forgetful, but it is getting a little bit ridiculous! For work, I make my own schedule and plan out my own visits to client's houses, coordinate co-visits with other co-workers, etc. So it is somewhat important that I am able to remember things long enough to write them down. Justin and my co-workers have been great at not making me feel too dumb when I drop the ball, or have to ask them five times when we just scheduled to see which little kiddo. But, I'm afraid the forgetfulness is crossing over into other areas of life. For example, I sometimes forget that I'm pregnant...I think this is the epitomy of my forgetfullness. I know, I know, how in the world does one forget that she is pregnant? I mean, I feel the little guy moving all day long, I have this ever-growing belly...I don't really know how it happens either. The other day, for example, I was walking in a parking lot. There were a lot of cars in the parking lot, but not a lot of people. Some car a little ways away honked and whistled at someone. I had my back to them, so I didn't see who they were honking at, but I had on a new pair of jeans, a new shirt and some really cute shoes and was feeling quite good about myself, and the thought crossed my mind "I wonder if they were honking at me?" I then looked down and saw my stomach sticking out. The next thought was "Good grief, Elise, you are 6 1/2 months pregnant! Remember?! No one is honking at you." I just started laughing at myself. It was pretty ridiculous and hilarious.

Capitol Reef Natl. Park

While we were down in Southernish Utah, Justin and I decided we should go and checkout Capitol Reef Natl. Park, since it's only about 30 miles away from Fish Lake and we rarely get down that way. It was so amazing to see the stark red cliffs and the petroglyphs. We had a great time hiking around and taking pictures. Justin was sweet and helped me when my hips where trying to pop out of joint as they so often do. He's had lots of sympathy pains throughout this pregnancy. Anyway, it was a great place to go, and they have orchards with free fruit you just go pick off the tree and eat! Justin was very disappointed that we didn't see a scorpion while we were there. I was rather glad we didn't. It was truly amazing to see how the water carves so many amazing things. It was a great day of enjoying God's creations.

Family Vacation #3

For Labor Day weekend my mom’s family always goes to Fish Lake. It’s a tradition they’ve been doing since she was little, and we love joining in on it! Everybody eats, goes fishing, plays football, does a little dutch oven cooking, hot-dog roasting, smore-making and LOTS of singing around the campfire. It was great, as always. It’s fun to have everyone together without a lot of distractions. We had some beautiful weather, and some not to beautiful weather to deal with. When it’s a clear sky at night you can see more stars than anywhere else I’ve ever been. It’s amazing how many stars I regularly do not see! But when it storms there, it storms HARD! Justin and I pretty seriously thought we were going to die by lightning strikes the last night we were there. Either that or the wind, rain and hail were going to rip our tent apart and we would be done for. Luckily, everything and everyone survived!
There are two pictures that we took, in a tiny little town called Loa, looking inside a police car...and what exactly is that inside the police car? It is a dummy! But not just any dummy, it's a dummy with a freaky-looking Halloween mask on!! Justin and I drove by it and just couldn't believe our eyes, so we had to turn around and take some pictures. It was hilarious! Who knows, maybe it works for them in this little town!? It didn't convince us to drive slower, but it definately was entertaining!

Getting Bigger…

Well, I apologize I haven’t been very good at updating pictures of my growing belly, but here are a few over the last month. I have really popped out and gotten so much bigger! It’s pretty astonishing that my stomach can expand so much in such a little time. I know most people look at me and tell me that I’m so little for being 6 months pregnant, but I can’t imagine being any bigger and still having 3 months to go! It’s all so squishy when I bend over, and I know it’s only going to get more so from here. I’ve had to start implementing a side-swipe to pick things up off the ground, which is pretty funny looking. Justin and I can’t believe that this baby is going to be here in 3 months. Ready or not this little guy’s coming, and it’s most likely to be the “or not” part!

Family Vacation #2

My parents also came down from WA and we had a great little family reunion at Wolfcreek Lodge, up Ogden Canyon. It was beautiful and we celebrated Melanie’s graduation and birthday, and Grandma and Grandpa Neilson’s anniversary. We relaxed, shopped, golfed, swam, played games, watched the Olympics and, of course, ate to our heart’s content. It was great to be with everyone, which doesn’t happen that many times during the year. Aren’t they all just so cute! Thanks for the great times everyone!
